NUMEN (Drawing Challenge)

Your NUMEN will show. Behind the corner. Maybe when it's least expected. Just try not to think of it for a while. Probably this one doesn't like dealines? Maybe they depress or scare Him/Her? Do something else, take a deep breath, stop waiting...
And... take the pencil... xxx

A wonderful watecolour - I SEE how you feel!:):(

haha, love the way you deal with this drawing challenge! of course it is not funny at all, because you need your numen right now! But still, love your humor, that way you draw comics, hihi! love it! (thanks for your comment on my mother's drawing, you always give me the feeling that I should not doubt what I do, I do it the good way, your words are so wise and I mean that in a good way!)

Ha! this is so wonderfully relate-able :)
How many times have I felt this same way and your image is so vibrant in angst I love it!
There is always the struggle and then the release, why is that not as divine as peace ?
best to you Roberto

I think you found your Numen my friend!!!

Oh boy, you look so desperate! My brother always says: Begin with the beginning and the beginning is right in front of your nose! And then I ask him: But where? Where??? In front of my (big) nose is only the air. How does that beginning look like?
But I think you have to close your eyes, take a deep breath, pick up the pencil and GO! Good luck! XXWW!!

Numen always comes, little pressure helps :-) Good luck Roberto!

Okay so you have the first drawing of the cartoon, or the idea of the cartoon story. This character is so real, so tortured, so loveable, so human, so funny, so tragic (I mean the FEELING is tragic.) I laughed so hard you can't imagine. I hope you get to use this illustration with this caption somehow Roberto. I think your appeal (to the ether) to find your numen may have just woken up the spirit-helpers whose job it is to help us find things. Often, we forget to ask. You asked very loud in this post. Lots of love, Norma, xo

damn, i wish you the numen that you wish for!!!

love this piece of art, it expresses your feelings perfectly! even the colors are perfectly expressive!

wishing you grace with your comic!

Haha, oh my god, I'm EXACTLY in the same position right now (and that's why I'm surfing through dc postings instead of working), still waiting for inspiration for my studies and tomorrow is the day to show progress...so far: no progress at all...heaven help!! You made me laugh while I'm on the verge of despair! Thank you so much! Hope we'll still manage to solve our challenges, it's the numen of artists to sometimes get the idea in the very last minute...happy new year, Roberto, even this situation will pass! ;-)

Cindi dijo...

I suspect your numen is off having wild adventures!!

Unknown dijo...

jajajajaja ia vá a vení! ;)))

renilde dijo...

probably we all are despared sometimes when the numen is hiding or making us think left forever but you my friend are probably the only one to put that fact in a great drawing.
your numen will return, just when you nearly gave up waiting.xx

Dear Roberto, it always astounce me what the others will do in the dc, but I always looking forward what you're coming up with and I never get dissapointed. This post makes me laugh out loud and you made me day at least, if not the whole week. I can so relate to your post and your illustration is perfect with it.
Hope the Numen came back meanwhile or you made a script about the artist loosing his Numen...
Thanks very much for this post!!!!
And very belated: A Happy New Year to you (with loads of Numen).

Wow, beardy bushman looking down on us! Hi there, mr Sun Hat! XXWW!!

Nancy Grönholm dijo...

oh no, that's very impolite of her to not show! ... maybe she's still working through her New Year's hangover? I'm sure patience and a bit of coaxing will bring her back, and anyway, are you sure she's not lurking somewhere in the background - this watercolour of your artistic despair is just wonderful! It could easily be the start of a cartoon! :D

Stefanie Seltner dijo...

well, I just thought I send you some kisses here... thank you for yours, for all your kind words and poetry!
what a fine header :-) x Stefanie

Carolina Grönholm dijo...
