UPSIDE DOWN (Drawing Challenge)

I get older, but I do not feel that way, (not that I do not assume my age, I do not feel old)
I still use the same jeans when I was 25, the same shoes, my kids are young and I talk to them with words they use. I have all my teeth, I have an open mind to all new forms of expression, I try not to be prejudiced, or have preconceptions of any kind, I have less hair, but better ideas.
I like the old music and also the new. I never say that former days were better.
I try to live life on this earth as if time did not exist. And I do not feel that everything is upside down in this world.
And if ever I feel that everything is upside down ... I will put my head down and my feet looking up to heaven, and I will continue growing old happily.

This week, the host on Drawing Challenge, is Patrice A.  if you want to see all the excellent works of all magic people, look here

I always feel that I can learn so much from you, I wish we could talk from person to person one day… I try to learn from your attitude, your strength and flow in life. And funny is: the same thoughts here as Patrice: in that drawing you could easily be my father, haha! especially with the hair, hihi!

so refreshing to read your words of how you live your life. makes me smile, my eyes and heart. such a fine piece of art too to illustrate it.

I'm with you Roberto. Living inside out own heads is an internal image of who we are...maybe with less hair or, in my case, bigger need for hair colour. :D As for better ideas...wow, I wish I knew then what I know now! Love getting older.

Yesterday the Beatles were on tv. Old men, old skin, great music and still head banging. It's great to feel happy in this live. And that's a gift!

"... but better ideas..."
i love that, and i follow it too. it's true that ideas seem to go deeper, yet at the same time become lighter. and i kinda like that alot too. n♥

Getting old is not so bad. To stop being a rebel and to start being yourself is relaxing and rejuveniting in a way.
I like the composition of your painting! The white figure in the middle against the dark blue, the transparent arrows around him.
I turned my computer upside down to see his face. He is oke, floating in his own time capsule, his spirit getting younger. 'The things you have learned, they sit with you so beautifully.'
XXWW!!

I live exactly the same way in terms of age...I rarely think of ages, mine or others, or judge or sort people because of their age (what in fact many people do and often feel uncomfortable when talking to people who are a lot younger or older)...I have friends in the early 20s as well as some older than 50, but I often don't realise any differences. When I look at your face, your inner youth and attitude is obvious. And your sense of humour is the best anyway! Your drawing makes me smile again! That's life...tumbling naked through time and space! ;-))

Roberto I was enjoying the anticipation of seeing what your drawing would be as I read and read your post. Your self description is wonderful. So positive and so honest. Then when I got to view your drawing I laughed to myself, because it reminded me of Nadine's (due to the lack of undies) and Nadine's had reminded me of Patrice's and I have not hardly gotten through all of the players this challenge! Don't you find it fascinating how so often one of us or more than one of us, has the same art idea as one of the others of us? I do believe we are connected. Your drawing this week uses watercolor in such a fluid overlapping way. Love it! Norma, x

Hi Roberto! I like your positive attitude both in words and images:) I often think getting older is shit ( sorry but could not find a nicer word ) but at the same time I do agree every word you write, thank you and have a sunny week, Leena

So true! and words I feel deeply in my own life..time is an illusion- though things change on the outside we are timeless on the inside :)
Wonderful drawing of acceptance and gratitude I think :) hugs to you!

Love your carefree approach of life and wonderful translated in your drawing!

What gorgeously uplifting words! And the drawing too - so airy and bubbly, I think you just gave me the biggest smile of the week :D it always annoys me a little how people in interviews are presented with name and age, if they were doing a poll, sure, but if they're just commenting on the lovely weather over the weekend?? They might as well have added height, weight and number of facebook friends too, ptff! ;)
I think my life might've been a little less interesting without my friends of all ages, in fact all of my bestest friends have been outside my own age range so I guess it's all down to chemistry!

Susan Christensen dijo...

What a wonderful perspective, Roberto! I completely agree: although I am aging I do not feel old (except maybe when I wake up with aching bones)! The joy in your painting makes me smile! best wishes, sus

Hi Roberto, like your funny drawing with the little Schniedel and happy to hear that you're able to live with the flow and especially liked the sentence that you have less hair, but better ideas - seems that you are doing it all right - congratulations you won a happy life!

¿Quién puede hablar de vejez con semejante actitud? :D

I like this a lot. The whole idea is so comforting. (And I fully believe that from you!) The background of drawing reminds me if some Paul Klee work I saw in London last winter. Nice space where you can float which way you want to. You are my idol Roberto!

rossichka dijo...

And that's why I like you so much!!:)) Although I am not that kind of person, maybe even I am quite a different one... But your words made me think that maybe it's high time to find some time to listen to myself...xx
