FLORERO/VASE (Drawing Challenge)

Do you remember when you read Siddhartha? ...
Today, I do not know why, I saw it on the shelf,
I opened it,  and I found a dry flower, crushed between the pages ... with that black tobacco smell, that you smoked ...
When a flower is placed in a vase, I thought,  we condemn it to death,
when we put it in a book,  we do it to endure over time, as a reminder,  a forgotten reminder, until one day, we open it, and is there,  is not the flower that was that day, is an ocher bit of past with perfume of black tobacco, and smelling of summer days under the orange trees

Hello Roberto, so true what you say about the flower in a vase. I've found many flowers in books bought at thrift shops which makes me wonder why the flower was loved enough to be saved. Great post. xo Carole

You know I have flowers stuffed away in many of my books and it's always such a treat to find them again- remembering the time they filled the room with their beauty...and yet they are still a work of art pressed between book pages- a very interesting vase idea indeed!
PS I love your new header :)

Your interpretation of the theme is very unusual and original, Roberto!
A vase is the place where a flower's life can be saved for a little bit longer! The book turns out to be a kind of a vase - preserving the flower's colours forever and what's more - the memories, connected with it!
I have flowers, kept in books, too. If I put them somewhere else, I'm afraid I will lose their traces...
I like the two pics - there's so much to be seen after the first glimpse!:)

You always surprise me with your interpretation of the theme Roberto! I love this! When I was moving to my new home I found some leaves in a book. I found them when I was living in Switzerland and put them in a book and I forgot about them. They brought back all sort of memories….

I like to pick flowers, put them in vases. But to preserve them in a book, to forget them and to find them again as a souvenir aromatico... It's a present from the past.
XXWW!!

the philosophy of the pressed and re-found flower is indeed an intimate one. i'm rather met by my incompetence to remember, when i find one somewhere, although, at the time of pressing i convinced myself i would never forget its moment. well. ... n♥
the idea of the book being the vase/vessel appeals to me too...

I came to visit your site yesterday but there was something wrong with my internet connection, the images didn't upload, I could only read the poem. So it was really exciting to come back today and actually see the images. I must say they are not at all what I imagined, which is great, it is always nice to be surprised!!! I like the rough charm of the cardboard! XXX

beautiful interpretation Roberto,
you did make us all smile, no doubt about that.
it's always a lovely moment when one opens a book and finds forgotten things(photos, concert tickets, postcards etc.) hidden among its pages, but a flower is always a bit special because it was once alive.

love your dancers, they really move, xx
