REFRAN/SAYING (Drawing Challenge)

Cuando  te sentís como un tonto, porque te levantaste muy temprano,  pero Dios no te ayudó;
o se escapó el pájaro de tus manos; o sos el herrero que tiene el cuchillo de palo; o cuando el cántaro que fue a la fuente y  se rompió es el tuyo;
Dios apretó tanto, que  te sientís ahorcado;

Do you believe that sayings are good for something? or that they are always late ....

A saying ...
someone should have told me a saying ...
a good saying, with a good moral...
as
"Do not do this because you can get that"...
or,
"Do not be silly, sees reality" (which is disguised)...
or,
"If you do not  realize this, someone will make that"...

But a saying, is always late...
When you feel like a fool, because you wake up very early, but God did not help you;
or the bird escaped from your hands, or you're the blacksmith who has the wooden knife, or
when the pitcher who went to the source, and broke, is yours;
or you lost hope and you have nothing left over, or
God squeezed so much that you feel hanged;
or the dog that does not bark bite you ...
So you think it's good when who says the saying are you, but not when another says to you.

Great mental image of the blacksmith with the wooden knife, and what a perfect image to convey the feeling of being told what to do, from every direction.

But I am afraid I am no early bird--there is no help for me!!!

So true! Wonderful how you approach this challenge and the drawing fits perfect. I imagine you with all those people and their wise sayings, hihi. When I was reading your text I had to think about the song "ironic" by Alanis Morisette;-)

Roberto you are the best. Your art and your words dance a story ALWAYS interesting and touching and true and funny. Your art is beautiful and funny. I like the colours in this work so much. And the different faces. This is a great collage piece. Well more than a collage but you know what I mean. Love it!!! N, xo

This is why the proverb came to be right- to be able to "tell" someone in hind site what they should do- like a recipe for life's folly :)

Your drawing is wonderful and I love this angle on the theme!!!

Oh oh, all that fingers, eyes and mouths with their moralistic messages... But alas, how often they are true, these proverbs! I like the action in your painting. I feel the energy. I can hear their shouting. The white painted background is really good! XXWW

Haha, you're so right, and best are those confusing sayings that are totally the opposite of another. For instance: "The early bird catches the worm" contra "The last will be the first" or "The second mouse will get the cheese"...what the hell is right now?! Aarrgghh! ;o)))

a coolage, how cool! Love the intensity of this drawing - and his oh so tired eyes, poor fellow :( This was definitely a great take on the challenge. ( I tried to read the Spanish part but it was jsut too much for me today, I think I ate too much at dinner today and it has numbed my mind ... blimey, it's almost disturbing how they're all crowding on him - I wouldn't want to be in his shoes right now! ;) I love you photo headings btw, they're beautiful and so atmospheric.

the image illustrates so well the meaning of your words - I am sorry but I have to laugh while watching and reading. It sounds and looks like the hero of a movie, I mean, hero like the always non hero but everybody just has to love him.
