 The host of this week in DC is tinyWoolf, who was kind enough to invite me to participate. To see the other guests, who are excellent artists you can go here.

Beauty does not exist,
Something is beautiful about what else?
Is there a measure for beauty?
Something is more beautiful than anything else?
Between two beautiful things which is more beautiful?
For someone, a weapon can be beautiful, a landscape can not be beautiful?
Who says this is beautiful and this is not beautiful?
Beauty does not exist because all we are beautiful, everything on Earth is beautiful, everything in the Universe is beautiful.
You have the option, do not see the glass half empty of beauty.

Yo sé de tu vida sin gloria ninguna;

Sapo cancionero:
Canta tu canción,
Que la vida es triste,
Si no la vivimos con una ilusión.

Tú te sabes feo, feo y contrahecho;
Por eso de día tu fealdad ocultas
Y de noche cantas tu melancolía
Y suena tu canto como letanía.
Repican tus voces en franca porfía;

Yes, it is true what you say. Beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder! To me, toads are among some of the most beautiful creatures alive.....their handsome eyes and croaky songs! Have a great week.

I think it is difficult to see beauty unless there is something to which it can be compared. Can beauty exist without its opposite? This is what I have been thinking about this week. Your lovely frog is a poignant reminder that something can be more or other than it seems.

My post on beauty is yet to come. I hope to have something up this evening!

Yes, I totally agree on your thoughts. Impossible for beauty to exist without a beholder who defines it as beautiful. But who tells you what beauty is or what is beautiful? Would I define a toad as beautiful if someone would have taught me so? There are certain common denominators that most people would define as beautiful, but in other terms they totally disagree. Strange thing, that so-called beauty. I'm still sure we need beauty in our lives and long for it. No matter how it's specified by the individual.

This wonderful frog of yours contains the probable answers to the question :"What is beauty?" An aeshthetic concept that we all understand and interpret in our own way... In my dramatization of Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling" I tried to explain the children why the main hero was rejected all the time...
"... (The Ugly Duckling sees his reflection in the water.)

The Ugly Duckling: But how is this possible? I was ugly, wasn't I?

The Swans: Were you?

The Ugly Duckling: Yes. Everyone told me so.

The Swans: Poor you! Ugliness for some is beauty for others...And the contrary.

Roberto, see how many frogs!!:)
