EL ACTO CREATIVO/THE CREATIVE ACT

................................................................................................................................................................
I was thinking about the creative act.
and automatically came to mind the idea about discreative act , (
perhaps uncreative act, I mean, the reverse -or inverse- of creative act)
As an example, I paint a watercolor and I want to do the opposite, no-create it, I can not think of another way to do it that destroy the watercolor.
this act of destruction, it is in itself a creative act
conclusion:
We are tied to everything we create, because we can not go back,
every time we try it, we will be creating something new
In addition, the visual impact of the discreative act, I think it's more powerful than the creative act

As an example, here I show a watercolor  I painted of the Japanese artist Yoyoi Kusama, and my attempt for no-create it.

I would say that I did not destroy this watercolor, because I do not like, on the contrary, is one of the watercolors I painted this year that I like more. but I had to try to go back, not create it, it was impossible

sorry for the bad lighting in these photos but I wanted them to be taken without flash.

acccchhhhh, how did it feel to tear it up? I have torn up art work before when I have gone back after time has passed and but it's because I think "yuk" I can't believe I painted this ;)

ongoing creativity Roberto, so once started there is no way back ;)

i have to admit, that torn portrait looks fascinating in some way also because i know of Yayoi Kasamu's mental problems, the tearing makes this portrait even stronger and very touching, x

I agree with what you say, my friend. That's why I don't tear pages of bad drawings out of my sketchbook anymore. I kept thinking about those bad drawings when they were in the trash can, anyway.

I think the word is 'uncreative'.

This is a lovely portrait - but I most wanted to comment on your masthead. That to me is more eye-catching! Am I right to assume that you are standing in front of - and ignoring - your self-portrait? If so, it is beautifully done (whoever it happens to be)! I like how your self-representation is looking sideways at you.

I enjoy the whimsical style that you use most often, but I also appreciate the heightened realism you seem to be going for here. Beautiful!

Roberto (and Ted) isn't the word 'destructive'?

Very brave of you to destroy it, or create something new out of it! Even if you would burn it, it's something new and it will always end in some kind of performance. I should not think about it to much: like you said: you always create something new and my mind keeps thinking and thinking!!!! Oh: I like the red hair, of course, haha!

and in the uncreation, you've created something else ... just like céline said! there's no getting around it :) ...ut it's a thought that's got me thinking... I wonder if there is an answer?

Love this idea of creating and in this instance, de-creating.. it is not something I would have think about really, but you are right, there is something special about a piece that was done, and the fact that we have to live "with" it. Or... as you did... de-create it. :) witch, as someone else mention above, only happen to create something else hehe :)) Food for taught.

Me encanto esa acuarela!!

Woww a lovely portrait of Yayoi Kusama!! Guess she's one of your inspirations, as she's my favourite as well:) Love the simplicity and roughness in your works, it just adds so much dynamity and impression x
