VANIDAD/VANITY (IF)

I've been reporting on the vanity, and I've seen almost everything in graphics on this subject shows women looking in a mirror or making up her face. I wonder, the man is not vain?
Perhaps it is because macho culture is so strong that even the women are convinced that grooming and beautification is vanity?
And show the money, give an indication of power, shown as having assets, deny the rights of another is not vanity?
Vanity is synonymous with pride, of one who is believed superior to another.
Perhaps we should invent the term: "Gender Vanity"

(Obviously, I know that the demonstration of power, money and material objects, is not exclusively male, but I think there is some male vanity in this exhibition aimed to demonstrate gender superiority) .

Roberto,

..."vanity"...

Roberto: aplausos de la platea femenina!!!!!!!!

A car made of solid gold would be very expensive to repair after a collision, and everyone would try to hit you so they could have gold scraped onto their bumpers.

Sorry, I get off the subject sometimes.

Sure, man can be and often are vain, cannot deny that.
I like your sketch, it is a bit different kind of art than what I have seen from you so far but equally effective. nice to see you using ink sometimes :-)

Hi Roberto, I am here again but I am not. Something "between". Well, I can tell you it feels very well to be here and in the same time not. Does it make any sense?

Is it Ignatz sitting in his 18K car?
(I guess the car is of the brand "Superbia")

You are so right, of course men are vain too, it's just not as obvious to illustrate... You did a good job!

camino roque dijo...

a man must show off his feathers to catch a woman's eye

but the woman must appear to not notice him, so he must preen his feathers more, invest more time in his vanity, invest more time in her, so when she captures him then he will stay - I thought the car was travelling at 18k, then I thought that's how much it costs, then finally I caught the joke - you see I am a bad catch and my feathers are all lying in the cupboard

vanity is a beautiful thing, when I look in the mirror I see an object of beauty - and then I put on my glasses :)

Hello Roberto, thanks for visiting & commenting my post. I have been planning to say this for a long time but I am really impressed by your skills of analysis. I would really like to learn that too, my approach to art work appreciation is purely intuitive but I guess it wouldn't be too late to learn some analytical tools too.
And about 'the secret': There is none, the ink I use turns purplish when diluted with water. I used a very cheap Chinese brand, meant for fountain pens, but I kind of like it.
Happy Thursday! -Sasa

(yes , I know)

fortunately you're not dazzled by the gold (or battle)

¿Alfredo?
